If something like this existed, it would have been commented on during the competition. The comments was that this is an entirely new vision for the field.

The concept is based on capturing sunlight and transporting it to points on the planet where it is needed. Sunlight can be captured in space (which is yet to happen), on the moon, and on Earth.

In the competition, we also shared concepts for:

• Transporting light, heat, and electricity via lasers.
• Laser heating and illumination.
• Laser batteries.
• Personal laser-based electricity generation when needed (with no losses compared to losses in electricity transmission).
